The article examines various interpretations of the relationship between different philosophical schools of Mahayana Buddhism. The stereotypes of perception of the role of various Buddhist philosophers in the formation of the basic concepts of the leading Buddhist schools are considered. The following concepts are discussed: «Voidness» (Shunyata), «Two Truths» (Paramartha-satya and Samvriti-satya), «Germinal Potency of Thus Coming» (Tathāgata-garbha), «Aspiration to True and Complete Awakening» (Bodhichitta). The formulation and solutions of a number of philosophical problems in the main philosophical treatises of Nagarjuna are analyzed. It is stated that in such texts as «Mulamadhyamaka-karika», «Bodhichittavivarana», «Yuktishashtika», «Shunyatasaptati», etc. the most consistent unification of the concepts of various schools of Buddhism into a single consistent whole based on the methodology of Madhyamaka is carried out.
