Possibilities of the Buddhist World in the XXI Century

The article discusses the features of the formation of Buddhist civilization and modern prospects for its development. The possibility of considering the structure-forming role of Buddhist monasteries, as well as in Christian civilization, in the context of the «network» paradigm is noted. It is predicted that the Buddhist civilization will preserve its position in the 21st century in the areas of its traditional distribution and strengthen its influence beyond their borders. The conclusion is made that in modern conditions the potential geopolitical opportunities of the Buddhist civilization are of particular importance.
