The author examines the types of interreligious dialogue, emphasizing that it is based on the diversity of religious experience. The article examines the relationship between Buddhism and Orthodoxy in Eastern Siberia in different historical epochs, which, according to the author, have a polemical character, since both religious traditions consider this territory as a field for missionary activity. The thesis about the importance of cognitive dialogue and comparative theology is put forward. As a basis for the dialogue, the author considers the «anonymous Christianity» of the Catholic German theologian Karl Rahner and the theory of Tathagatagarba, set forth in the Uttaratantra of Arya Asanga. The core thesis put forward by the author contains the idea that interreligious dialogue is an effective tool for implementing the Strategy of the state National Policy of the Russian Federation, in particular, in the region of Eastern Siberia.
