The article provides a brief biography and work of the outstanding Buryat Buddhist figure Kensur Agvan Nyima (1907‒1990). He wrote the treatise «The Lamp of Reasoning» (tib. chos byung lung rigs sgron me) in Tibetan. Based on this work, we observe the biography of the founder of the Gelug school in Tibet, Je Tsongkhapa Lobsang Dakpa (1357‒1419). When examining this part of the work, we divided it into conditional parts: the period of childhood; the period of training; the period of learning tantra; the period of practice and teaching. In this article, we retain the first two parts. We offer a comparative analysis of the works with works aimed at the biographies of Tsongkhapa Thubten Jinpa and B. L. Tushinov and came to the conclusion that in many ways they came true.
