The article examines the relationship between Buddhism and Orthodoxy in Eastern Siberia in different historical epochs, which, according to the author, have a polemical character, since both religious traditions consider this territory as a field for missionary activity. The thesis about the importance of cognitive dialogue and comparative theology is put forward. As a basis for the dialogue, the author considers the \u00abanonymous Christianity\u00bb of the Catholic German theologian Karl Rahner and the theory of Tathagatagarba, set forth in the Uttaratantra of Arya Asanga.
