The author of the paper proposes to make hermeneutical adjustments to European (Russian) translations and interpretations of Tibetan Buddhist terminology that expresses the basic philosophical doctrines of Buddhism, for example, the doctrine of the «Four Truths of the Āryas», and gives an analysis of the philosophical distortion that is introduced into the understanding of this doctrine through a non-reflexive translation and the interpretation of the Tibetan concept «‘phags-pa’i-bden-pa-bzhi» as «the four noble truths».

For citation:

Urbanaeva I.
